Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Santo Pure Oia Suites & Villas is ideal for guests who appreciate traditional architecture and multiple pool options close to Oia. Reviewers have been very generous in their praise. The hotel stands out for its six distinct outdoor swimming pools, Cycladic domed design, and suites with private verandas and outdoor hot tubs. However, its layout requires climbing multiple steps, and caldera views are limited from certain suites.
Guests score it 9.0 out of 10 — the average across the 17 hotels we list on Santorini is 9.4.
What Guests Loved
- Every suite features a personal veranda equipped with a heated hot tub and loungers, offering a private space to watch the famous Santorini sunsets away from the crowds.
- Guests have access to six different outdoor pools distributed across the property, ensuring ample space for relaxation and reducing guest density in any single area.
Things to Consider
- Because the property is set slightly back from the cliff's edge, some suites offer views of the Aegean Sea rather than the iconic volcanic caldera. Guests seeking direct caldera vistas should specify their room preference when booking.
- Built on a gentle slope, the resort's sprawling layout involves navigating stairs and pathways to reach certain suites and amenities. This may pose a minor challenge for those with mobility difficulties.
Should you book it?
Book it if you want

Reviews from Google“The resort is nice, especially if you book a room with a sunset view. The private jacuzzi was also a great addition. However, I don’t feel the experience was quite value for money. We had concerns about whether we had received the exact room shown on Booking.com, as none of the photos matched the room we were given — neither the room style nor the decor. The decor actually seemed more similar to that of a lower-priced room. We raised this at reception, and the lady there told us that the room we had received was indeed the correct one. About 10 minutes later, a manager contacted us and asked which specific photos we felt did not match. He explained that the property has many rooms and many different photos, but at no point did he acknowledge that the photos could have been misleading or that there was a discrepancy. For us, the issue was not about arguing over the room; we simply wanted to understand why the room looked so different from what was advertised. Since we were on holiday, we didn’t want to spend our time going back and forth over this, especially after already receiving confirmation from reception. Unfortunately, the manager’s tone during the conversation also felt unnecessarily dismissive, as though we had raised an unreasonable concern. On a positive note, the rest of the staff we interacted with were friendly and pleasant. The resort itself has a lot of potential, particularly the sunset-view rooms, but more accurate room photos and a more understanding approach to guest concerns would make the experience much better.”
“Beautiful property, but disappointing room comfort The property itself is beautiful, but unfortunately we had several issues with our room that made the experience disappointing for a hotel at this price level. The biggest problem was the air conditioning. The AC was operating, but the unit itself looked extremely old and dated—almost like something from the 90s and seemed inadequate for such a large room. It was unable to cool the room to a comfortable temperature. The sleeping area and bed remained warm, and essentially no cooling reached the bathroom, which became extremely hot. We also had an issue with the toilet not flushing properly. We contacted reception and the hotel did send a technician to our room, which we appreciated. The technician improved the situation, but the problems were still not completely resolved afterward. Another thing to be aware of is the location. Although Santo Pure is in Oia, it is about a 15-minute walk to central Oia and the main pedestrian area with the restaurants, shops and famous viewpoints. The walk also involves uphill, which can be tiring in the Santorini summer heat. This wasn't necessarily a dealbreaker for us, but it's something I think guests should know before booking. I understand that maintenance issues can happen at any hotel, and I appreciate that the staff responded when we called. However, at a luxury property like Santo Pure, I expected basic things such as adequate room temperature and a properly functioning bathroom to be addressed completely. Overall, Santo Pure is a beautiful resort, but between the room comfort issues and the walk to central Oia, our stay did not live up to the luxury experience we expected for the price.”
“Our stay at Santo Pure was simply unforgettable. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. The service was exceptional in every possible way. Every request was handled with kindness, professionalism, and a sincere desire to help. We felt that the team thought about every little detail and truly went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We were especially touched by the way the hotel accommodated our special requests. The care, respect, and attention we received exceeded all of our expectations. We have traveled to many places, but this level of hospitality is truly rare. The hotel itself is stunning, the rooms are beautiful, the atmosphere is peaceful, and every part of the experience felt luxurious. One moment that perfectly captures our experience: one evening my wife and I were sitting outside enjoying the view, and a member of the staff quietly came over and covered us with a blanket because the evening had become a little chilly. Nobody asked them to do it—they simply noticed and wanted us to be comfortable. That small gesture says everything about the people who work here. Thank you to the entire Santo Pure team for an incredible experience. We will definitely be back, and we will recommend this hotel to everyone we know.”
“Underwhelming Service and Disappointing Views for a Luxury Honeymoon We stayed at Santo Pure for six days at an average price of 550 Euros per night. As the 3rd and final stop of our honeymoon trip, having stayed in well over 500 hotels globally and reviewed more than 3000 places worldwide we expected a five-star luxury experience to cap off our trip, but unfortunately, the stay fell well short of expectations. The Positives: Breakfast & Pool Area: The breakfast spread was excellent, and the main pool area offers stunning sunset views. Interior Comfort: The inside of our villa was well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable. Where the Experience Fell Short Check-In & Reception: We arrived at 8:00am. While welcome drinks and luggage handling were provided, our room was not ready until exactly 3:00 PM, and with the property tour, we didn’t settle in until 3:30 PM. Beyond the seven-hour wait, the front desk team felt rigid, transactional, and entitled. There was no authentic hospitality, warmth, or effort to make a special occasion feel memorable. Unpleasant Views & Landscaping: Despite paying for high-end lodging, our villa offered only a narrow 30-degree sliver of the sea. The remaining view faced an unkempt lot littered with garbage. Furthermore, the private villa garden along with several neighboring plots was dry, neglected, and poorly maintained, Also, our closet and Jacuzzi light was Inop. Housekeeping Inconsistency: One afternoon around 4:00 PM, we requested late room service cleaning. We were initially told no cleaners were available, an unacceptable response for a luxury property. Only after calling a second time did someone finally come to clean the room. Lack of Courtesy Transportation: We requested transport down to Ammoudi Bay, located just a 2- to 3-minute drive away. The hotel offered to call an Uber for €20 rather than providing a complimentary drop-off. Most luxury resorts in this tier readily offer local-radius shuttles, making this feel like unnecessary “nickel-and-diming” after spending almost €3500 for our stay. What was meant to be the highlight of our honeymoon ended up feeling cold, poorly maintained on the exterior, and lacking basic luxury hospitality standards. Not great.”
“Beautiful location and hotel! Everything was perfect! Highly recommended. The traditional Greek restaurant and the spa must do. It was fantastic! I had an amazing facial and ended up buying some great skin care products.”
