Frequently Asked Questions

Paphos in the west gathers elegant beach resorts near UNESCO-listed antiquities, Limassol stands for modern marina luxury and city energy, and Ayia Napa with neighbouring Protaras has the island's finest turquoise coves. Larnaca is a convenient choice close to the airport.
Paphos for calm, history and golf; Limassol for restaurants, the marina and a city feel; Ayia Napa/Protaras for the island's best beaches — these days with several adult-oriented luxury resorts far removed from the party image. Families do well in all three.
One of the Mediterranean's longest: April to November, with swimmable seas well into October. Cyprus also gets over 300 days of sunshine a year, making even March and November useful for sun without heatwaves.
A five-star hotel usually starts around €200–350 a night. Newer flagship resorts in Limassol and Paphos can run higher in peak season, but Cyprus is generally good value compared with the priciest Greek islands.
Better than most of Europe: daytime temperatures around 17–20°C from December to February make the island excellent for golf, hiking and spa stays — though the sea is too cold for most swimmers. Many luxury hotels have heated pools and large spa floors for exactly this reason.
Both. The island's resort culture is built for families (kids' clubs, shallow coves, all-inclusive), but in recent years Paphos and Protaras have gained several adults-only hotels and grown-up spa resorts for couples after the quiet.
