Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels
NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa is a hotel for travellers who want the city on their doorstep. It sits on Mannerheimintie, around 300 metres from Central Station, so cafés, trams, shops and the harbour are all close at hand. Guests praise the location above all, then the breakfast, a generous buffet with champagne, local specialities and warm dishes. Rooms are soundproofed and spotless, with comfortable beds and calm décor, and the staff are described as friendly and helpful from check-in onwards. A sauna and a fitness centre round off the stay. The spa, however, is modest: there is no pool or hot tub. Courtyard rooms can face a neighbouring wall, some rooms feel dark or warm, and a few guests felt small lapses sat uneasily with the price. Travellers who value a central base and a calm room will be well served; those after a resort-style spa should look elsewhere.
Guests score it 9.3 out of 10 — the average across the 12 hotels we list in Helsinki is 9.1.
What Guests Loved
- Central Station is about 300 metres away and the Music Centre a 7-minute walk. Location is what guests praise most often, with cafés, restaurants, trams and the harbour all close by.
- The breakfast buffet includes champagne, local specialities, warm dishes and fresh pastries, and many guests name it among the highlights. The restaurant also caters for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets.
Things to Consider
- The spa area centres on the sauna; there is no swimming pool or jacuzzi, which disappointed at least one guest who expected more from a five-star spa.
- Rooms facing the courtyard can look straight onto a neighbouring building, and some guests found their room dim or too warm to sleep comfortably.
