Frequently Asked Questions
Positano and Amalfi for a setting close to the sea; Ravello for grand historic properties and far-reaching panoramic views.
Some do, yes. Certain hotels offer their own beach club or jetty with a lift down to sea level; others make use of partner beaches with reserved sun loungers.
May to June and September to October offer pleasant temperatures, clear skies, fewer visitors and better rates than the July and August peak.
For the high season, six to nine months ahead is advisable, particularly for suites and certain room categories.
Smart casual works perfectly well throughout; some fine dining restaurants prefer trousers and closed shoes in the evening.
Several welcome families with extra beds, children's menus and babysitting; others lean towards an adult atmosphere – it is worth checking before you book.
A private car with a driver or a boat is by far the most straightforward option; public transport is available but can be rather hectic during the high season.
