Frequently Asked Questions
Santorini for romance, sunsets and grown-up calm — the classic choice for couples and honeymoons. Crete for variety: best if you want to combine beaches, nature, gastronomy and excursions. Rhodes for family-friendly luxury with long beaches, an atmospheric old town and reliable weather.
May to October, warmest in July–August. For couples wanting to avoid the crowds and peak prices, May–June and September–October are often best — the sea is still warm and the islands calmer.
A five-star hotel usually starts at around €250–450 a night. Santorini's cave suites with private pools and caldera views are among the most expensive and can run well over €900 in high season, while Crete and the mainland give you more for your money.
They are carved into the caldera cliff face, with private terraces and infinity pools looking straight out over the volcanic bay and the sunset. The combination of view, seclusion and Cycladic architecture is hard to find anywhere else — and the reason many travel to Santorini for the hotel itself.
