It faces the Sony Center on Potsdamer Platz, a short walk from the Brandenburg Gate and close to the station, yet all rooms sit on the quiet upper floors. Guests praise the Asian-inspired design, the generous studios and suites with kitchen facilities and, above all, a staff that welcomes them with hot towels and small surprises. FACIL, the hotel's gourmet restaurant, adds a special evening without leaving the building. The compromises are minor but worth knowing. The lobby is small, the fitness lounge has few machines, and some guests find breakfast expensive. Value for money is also where guests are least enthusiastic.
