The Lewinnick Lodge

4-Star Hotel

A boutique hotel, perched above the Pentire Headland cliffs, offers breath-taking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Ideally located within walking distance of two of Cornwall's most beautiful and iconic beaches - Fistral Beach, just a 15-minute walk away, and Crantock Beach, reached with a 25-minute stroll across the river Gannel.

At Lewinnick Lodge, you will find spacious, sleek, and bright designer rooms with fantastic sea vistas. Most rooms feature super king-sized beds with crisp white bed linen, a modern bathroom with a monsoon shower, and Bramley organic toiletries. Other luxuries include a DAB radio with Bluetooth, a flat-screen TV with the usual apps, and Nespresso coffee machines.

The restaurant serves modern British cuisine with plenty of seafood dishes, such as Monkfish katsu and Moules Frites. A home-cooked breakfast is available every day from 8am. Dine in the restaurant or relax with a drink on the terrace, both have panoramic views of the north Cornwall coastline.

Additionally, the lodge offers 24-hour reception for your convenience. The town centre of Newquay is less than a 10-minute drive and is home to 7 glorious beaches and a thriving town centre. Newquay has a zoo, cinema, golf club, gardens, and picturesque harbour.

We welcome up to two dogs in certain room types, please contact us directly to confirm the availability of dog-friendly rooms.

Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels

The Lewinnick Lodge is for travellers who want the Atlantic right in front of them. It sits alone at the end of the road on Pentire Headland, so the rooms, the restaurant and the terrace all look straight out to sea, and guests talk about falling asleep to the waves and watching the sun go down over the water. The rooms are spacious and modern, the staff warm and quick to help, and the beaches at Fistral and Crantock are within walking distance. The trade-off is that the restaurant is as much a local favourite as a hotel dining room. It gets busy and lively, and rooms above the car park can pick up the noise until closing. The food is hearty rather than refined, and there is no spa or pool to fill a rainy day. Couples, walkers and dog owners who come for the setting will find it hard to leave; those wanting a full-service resort should look elsewhere.

A clifftop boutique hotel on Pentire Headland with sweeping Atlantic views, spacious modern rooms and a busy sea-view restaurant. It suits couples, walkers and dog owners who want the coast on the doorstep, less so anyone looking for a spa, a pool or complete evening quiet.

Guests score it 9.5 out of 10 — the average across the 9 hotels we list in Cornwall is 9.0.

  • The hotel stands at the end of the road on Pentire Headland, with nothing but rocks and ocean in front of it. Guests write about waking to the sound of the waves, the sunsets over the Atlantic and the absence of traffic noise.
  • Rooms are described as bright, ultra-modern and immaculately kept, with sea views, super king-size beds and good showers. Double-aspect rooms and the Oceanside rooms draw particular praise, and families appreciate rooms with enough space for teenagers.

Should you book it?
