Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels

Numo Ierapetra suits couples who want the quiet southern coast rather than the busy north. The hotel is adults-only, the beach is private, and three restaurants and a spa cover the stay. There are no children's facilities, only two bars, and a single tennis court.

Set on the southern coast of Crete near Ierapetra, this adults-only resort combines beachfront access with landscaped gardens and a measured pace suited to couples and solo travelers seeking rest over activity. Its three dining venues and private beach area give guests reason to stay onsite, while the spa and wellness center rounds out a low-key, restorative stay.

Guests score it 8.7 out of 10 — the average across the 53 hotels we list on Crete is 9.1.

  • Catering exclusively to adults, the resort offers a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere along the Ierapetra coastline, appealing to couples and travelers seeking uninterrupted calm.
  • Guests can choose between Mediterranean cuisine and a traditional Greek tavern, giving variety without needing to leave the property for different dining experiences.

“We loved our one week stay at NUMO! The hotel is thoughtfully designed, very clean and welcoming but a relaxed vibe. All the staff members were lovely and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. We did half board and really enjoyed the food, with plenty of choice (note drinks are on the expensive side). There’s a well equipped gym too. Consider hiring a car to visit local spots as the hotel is out of town. We visited in early May and the season was just getting started.”

“super relaxing and pleasant stay! I booked the hotel with Neckermann. I arrived a bit early at the hotel, so my room wasn’t ready yet! I got a welcome drink, recommendation to have lunch first! At the lunch spot I then got informed when my room was ready! Room was super nice, and overall service of hotel employees very good! Always nice, always friendly (in an authentic way). Food was lovely and the pool/beach area also very good! Couple of days were very windy but due to the fact that it isn’t a sandy beach area, not a lot of sand flying around. Overall: if you are looking for a place where you can super relax and calm down, this hotel - touristic region is perfect for it! Not overcrowded yet!”

“Beautiful hotel in an excellently quiet location. The entire complex and the beach are beautiful and the best choice for a relaxing holiday. Unfortunately, the gym is very small and there is no sauna. In general, I sometimes had the impression that the 5-star luxury category was rather superficial. The service at the table has focused on the somewhat aggressive sale of water and was otherwise kind of slow and hardly present after the first sales attempts. Indications of missing cutlery, for example, were completely forgotten. In addition, the first suite unfortunately did not meet the booked description. After a feedback the next day, however, the hotel took care of it in an exemplary reaction time and offered me another suite, to which I then moved. The dinner was very good. However, breakfast was quite weak compared to other hotels in the Hilton Group and in this category. Even in 4-star hotels of the usual hotel chains, warm a la carte options are included. Unfortunately not here. However, this also fits in with the fact that the water at dinner and coffee capsules in the room are with extra charge. By the way, the coffee capsules were no longer replenished from the 3rd day. Of course, I could have asked for it. But that makes all the difference to true 5-star luxury. If you want to play at the top, you have to follow all the rules 😉 The entire staff was very friendly and helpful and my special mention goes to Alina, who took excellent care of me from the first day to the last. She was always helpful and definitely fit the upscale category. Thank you so much for that! All in all, a great hotel. However, since I often travel to hotels in this category, I unfortunately have to subtract 1 star here in comparison.”

“What a nice experience at Numo!!! From the very first moment we stepped into the resort, we were treated with top notch service. At our first day we had some issue with the airconditioning being loud, we called the reception and within 10 minutes they sent someone over to fix it!! Also we enjoyed the buffet restaurant, the entire service team was very caring, they always made sure that we had enough water in our cups. The buffet doesnt have 1000 varieties but it does have really top- quality food, big applause also for the soup and salad. For the 7 days we stayed there was not a single day of disappointment. Also on the beach we could order food and drinks, they got delivered to our beach chairs. The service team from the pool / beach are also more than friendly and they always came to greet us:) I was specially surprised on my birthday with a cake and greeting card from Hotel Numo, how thoughtful! Therefore also a biiiiiig thanks!!! All in all it was such a good vacation, not only the hotel itself, but also the very professional and friendly service we received was remarkable. Thanks :)”

“Very nice hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Not really 5 star though. No Ala carte restaurant open, advertised turn down service which doesn’t happen, poor facilities for guests with late departure. You can have a cold shower in the gym in the bathrooms with no locks on doors. We had suite with pool and the outdoor area was not cleaned in ten days. Pool not really cleaned properly had a film of bugs and leaves on top by the time we left. Saying all of this the hotel had an amazing location and was a beautiful setting. The rooms are nice and clean, and the bed comfortable. I would definitely consider returning but just feel it is marketed as 5 star and just falls short with a few details.”
