Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels

This resort is ideal for travellers wanting flexible options with distinct family and adult-only zones. Standout features include direct access to Playa Flamingo bay, three swimming pools, and ocean views from the tiered terrace architecture. However, guests should expect a lively atmosphere during school holidays, and some rooms do not feature the latest interiors.

Situated on the southern coast of Lanzarote, this seafront resort balances family-oriented activities with refined adult-only spaces. Its tiered architecture overlooks the Atlantic, making it a reliable choice for travelers seeking a structured coastal retreat near the shops and beaches of Playa Blanca.

Guests score it 8.7 out of 10 — the average across the 13 hotels we list on Lanzarote is 8.8.

The 30-second verdict

  • The hotel sits directly on the promenade of Playa Blanca, providing immediate access to the sheltered waters of Playa Flamingo, which is ideal for swimming in calm, clear conditions.
  • Guests consistently praise the staff – from reception to restaurant and housekeeping. They're universally described as brilliant, friendly, and attentive. Many return specifically for the warm, personalised service. The hotel clearly prioritises creating a welcoming atmosphere.

“We booked this hotel because our son needs gluten-free food and they came recommended for ability to cater for dietary requirements. They lived up to, and exceeded, expectations, taking care to provide gluten-free food and giving individual attention to our son. Many thanks to Clara and all the team for their care. Our sons loved the sports activities that were organised by the animation team. Louis and all the team made great efforts to make sure that everyone had a great time. This is a hotel that we’d definitely go back to.”

“Our third time visiting this hotel and still cannot be faulted. The service is like nothing we have experienced at other hotels - the bar staff are so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We first visited in 2019 and we recognise lots of faces of staff who still work here offering 5 star treatment - a good sign of a dedicated workforce. We stayed star prestige this time and yet again were treated brilliantly Raoul, Luis, Yan and co on the star prestige bar area learned our drinks order on the first day and kept them flowing with friendly and relaxing service including honey rum shots even when we didn’t know we wanted them! It made for such a lovely positive experience. Esther who provided the activities for fitness and bar workshops including a game of bingo was a delight to meet and was lovely to listen to - she worked so hard to ensure everyone enjoyed the activities at whatever pace they wanted. She has a great sense of humour. Rooms are spacious and clean with lovely views. Yes there are mosquitoes but where near water doesn’t have them? The food was amazing and again service in the restaurant cannot be faulted. Diego’s cooking skills were fabulous and the range and quality of food was like nothing we have experienced in other Iberostar hotels.”

“My first time in this hotel and it was fantastic. From the food to the quality of the rooms. My favourite thing of all was was Esther loved everything she did from the Pilates in the morning, aqua fit in the afternoon. But most of all loved her master classes which were so enjoyable loved the coffee grounds. But overall her enthusiasm and want to get people involved made the trip very enjoyable. The bar staff were fantastic and very attentive and Raul was also great in helping Esther with her masterclasses and his service was top notch . Cannot wait come back next year”

“4.5 out of 5 ⭐️ We had a really enjoyable eight-night stay at Iberostar Selection Lanzarote Park. From arrival, the service was excellent – friendly, welcoming staff at reception, in the restaurant and around the pool. The people really make this hotel. We originally had an upgraded family room, but after the air conditioning failed, the hotel handled it brilliantly and moved us to an even better room in the Star Prestige area with fantastic uninterrupted sea views. The Prestige area was excellent – peaceful, loads of space, comfortable sunbeds and no fighting for beds. The food was also very good overall, with only a couple of average evenings during our stay. A few things stop me giving it 5/5. The rooms are starting to look dated and could do with better lighting, more sockets/USB points and a general refresh. I’d also like to see more mature gardens and landscaping around the hotel, and it’s a shame there’s no option to eat outside. I’m personally not a huge fan of Playa Blanca compared with Costa Adeje or Meloneras, but that’s no fault of the hotel. Overall, a very relaxing hotel with exceptional staff and service. I’m quite critical of hotels, so 4.5/5 from me is a very good score – I imagine most people would give it a solid 5.”
