Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels

Foodies and spa lovers wanting a historic old town base near the waterfront will find this luxury hotel best for their needs. Stellar guest reviews on Booking.com and Google back it up, and it offers a subterranean thermal spa circuit and a rooftop terrace with bay views. As a limitation, some rooms suffer from limited natural light, and the rooftop pool is relatively modest in size.

Set against the historic city walls of Palma de Mallorca, Es Princep balances contemporary sophistication with old-world Balearic charm. Its standout rooftop terrace and subterranean spa offer refined sanctuaries within the city. This property is ideal for design-conscious travelers seeking a polished urban base with resort-style amenities.

Guests score it 9.5 out of 10 — the average across the 54 hotels we list on Mallorca is 9.1.

“WOW, such an exceptional stay! From start to finish, the service was fantastic. A special mention to Flora, her attention to detail and warm welcoming service was truly second to none. We also received great service from Macarena in the mornings, and excellent service from Xavi at the pool every day. He was incredibly attentive, always made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some amazing local recommendations. Such a lovely guy! A beautiful hotel all round, we’d highly recommend it and can’t wait to return! Thank you Joseba, and all the team for making our stay special.”

“My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful six-night stay at Es Príncep Hotel in Palma, and I genuinely can’t speak highly enough of it. The standout feature of this hotel, by a considerable margin, is the staff. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every single member of the team was warm, friendly, genuinely welcoming and incredibly attentive. You never felt like just another room number – every interaction felt sincere. They greeted us by name, welcomed us back every evening after a day out exploring, and made us feel as though they genuinely cared about making our holiday special. The location is also fantastic. It’s perfectly positioned just a short stroll from Palma’s beautiful old town, making it incredibly easy to explore everything the city has to offer while still enjoying a peaceful, luxurious retreat. The team also shared some fantastic recommendations for beaches, bars and the perfect place to watch the Spain vs Portugal match, all of which turned out to be spot on. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they consistently went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible stay. We were also pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade on arrival, which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Breakfast was exceptional every morning, offering a truly outstanding selection of fresh, high-quality food. A special mention has to go to the freshly squeezed orange juice, which was absolutely delicious and quickly became part of our morning ritual. The rooftop pool and bar deserve a special mention too. It’s an incredible place to spend an evening with a cocktail or dinner while watching the sun set over Palma. The views, atmosphere and service made it one of our favourite spots in the hotel. Another nice surprise was the Le Labo toiletries in the room. I’ll admit I’d never heard of the brand before, but my wife was quick to educate me! Safe to say I became a fan over the course of the week! One thing that really stood out to me personally was how they handled my nut allergy. I mentioned it once at the beginning of our stay, and that information was clearly communicated throughout the hotel. I never had to mention it again. It certainly didn’t go unnoticed and provided exactly the kind of reassurance and peace of mind that anyone with allergies hopes for when travelling. It was a small detail that made a huge difference. It’s these thoughtful touches, combined with truly outstanding hospitality, that made our holiday so memorable. Luxury hotels can offer beautiful rooms and fantastic facilities, but it’s the people who make you want to return, and the team at Es Príncep did exactly that. After six nights, we left feeling less like guests and more like people the team genuinely cared about. Thank you to everyone at Es Príncep for making our stay so special. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Palma, and without a doubt, we’ll be back.”

“Stopped for two days in Palma, Mallorca before heading to Rafa Nadal Academy, and it was a PERFECT stay. 5 star service from EVERY employee, truly special. Luxury linens, beautiful rooms, spectacular rooftop bar and delicious breakfast. Perfect location to walk & explore. I am a seasoned traveler, and give this my highest recommendation. Thank you everyone for making our stay so very special!”

“We stayed 8 nights in this hotel with a 1.5 yo baby and we were pleased by our experience. The main highlight for us was the location but mostly the service. All staff were the best, from smiles to being helpful and making sure you have all you need. We felt well taken care of. The room we had was nice and properly cleaned / tidied up every day which was appreciated. The location is also great as close to the centre. Even with a pram it was very accessible. We had breakfast every day as more convenient with a baby, it was pricey but we enjoyed the quality and service of the breakfast. The buffet was great, all tasty and the hot dishes were excellent. They accommodated us with a high chair and baby cutlery. Another highlight was the rooftop restaurant with the amazing view and pool. There is a dedicated area for guests. A bit pricey too but it was good! Definitely recommend if you have the budget.”

“My son and I spent eight days in this outstanding hotel in the old historic city of Palma de Mallorca. Without exaggeration, this is one of the best hotels we have ever spent out vacation in. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and the entire hotel has a lovely atmosphere. The rooftop bar on the 5th floor is simply unbeatable. However, the excellent service provided by the staff in all areas of the hotel deserves special mention. We encountered only friendly and very helpful people who fulfilled our every wish. Special thanks goes to the front desk staff.”
