Yes — and one of Europe's fastest-growing. The coast has seen a wave of newly built five-star resorts matching Greek standards at markedly lower prices. If you want to experience "the next big Mediterranean destination" before everyone else, go now.
May–September, with the warmest swimming in July–August. June and September are excellent for warmth without peak-season crowds — the Riviera is strikingly calm compared with neighbouring countries' coasts.
This is Albania's trump card: five-star often starts at around €130–260 a night — roughly half the price of comparable standards on many Greek islands. Even the top suites are good value by European standards.
Saranda for the Riviera feeling: turquoise water, the coves of Ksamil nearby and the UNESCO town of Butrint. Durrës for convenience — a short transfer from Tirana, long sandy beaches and large resort properties. For the most beautiful swimming, Saranda wins.
