7 luxury adults-only hotels in Zakynthos: the best in 2026

Tripplo· Founder: Axel Hernborg· Last updated 26 September 2026

In short: We checked the adults policy at seventeen five-star hotels on Zakynthos. Seven are adults-only according to their own websites, all on the north-east coast between Tragaki and Kypseli; ten dropped out, most often because they take children from 12 or 13.

Zakynthos is known for Shipwreck Beach and the nightlife of Laganas, but almost all of its adults-only hotels sit on the quieter north-east coast, between Tragaki, Tsilivi, Planos and Kypseli.

The review analysis covers a sample of 166 reviews from 7 of the 7 hotels listed. Mentions are counted after automated classification of texts that may be shortened. Latest analysis in this selection: September 2026. How we count mentions.

The stepped path down to the road is steep, but the hotel runs a buggy. Meals come as breakfast or half board according to the same FAQ, and guests single out the breakfast and the vegan options.

Why this rank: The highest Booking score in the selection, 9.8 from 668 reviews, and 17 of 17 counted service mentions positive. The adults policy and the 16 age limit are on the hotel's own website.

Service & staff: 22 of 22 mentions positive · Food & restaurants: 12 of 12 mentions positive

Lesante Blu in Tragaki is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and has its own small sandy beach below the hotel. Several suites have a private pool, and the hotel is adults-only according to its own website.

Dinner is a five-course menu that changes daily, and one guest who eats at Michelin-starred restaurants rated it above them. The hotel lies under the approach to the airport, which guests notice during the day.

Why this rank: 22 of 22 counted service mentions positive, its own sandy beach and 4.8 on Google from 645 reviews – but incoming planes pass overhead during the day and there are not always enough sunbeds on the beach.

Uninterrupted Ionian Sea views from all suites
Diverse dining options with three specialized restaurants
Extensive wellness facilities and full-service spa
Distance from Zakynthos Town's central hub

King Jason Zante – Designed for Adults3

Booking9.7· 101 reviews

Service & staff: 12 of 12 mentions positive · Food & restaurants: 9 of 10 mentions positive

King Jason Zante is Louis Hotels' adults-only resort in Planos, built around water: most suites have swim-up access to shared pools and the Island Suites have their own pool. Three restaurants – Levantine, Peruvian fusion and a main restaurant – and the Purai Spa are on site.

The table-service restaurants can be hard to book on the first day, and no food is served at the pools. The walk back up from Tsilivi is steep.

Why this rank: 9.7 on Booking, but from 101 reviews – a small base that our model weighs down. 12 of 12 counted service mentions are positive.

Swim-up and private-pool suites
Three restaurants: Levantine, Peruvian fusion and a main restaurant
Purai Spa with sauna, steam room and heated hydro pool
Adults-only throughout

Elegance Luxury Executive Suites sits on the slope at Tragaki, with 46 suites, several of them with a private pool. The hotel itself states that it is for adults from 16.

The view over the Ionian Sea and the sunsets are what guests remember, and half-board dinners run to five courses. The hotel is out of the way, so plan on a car or taxi.

Why this rank: 32 of 32 counted service mentions positive, and four different guests report a free upgrade. The 16 age limit is on the hotel's own website.

In-suite hot tubs in living areas
Unobstructed Ionian Sea views

St John Suites - Adults Only Zakynthos5
Google4.8· 163 reviews
Booking9.1· 248 reviews

The rooms: 12 of 12 mentions positive · Pools, beach & aquapark: 12 of 12 mentions positive

St John Suites is the adults-only part of the St John complex in Tsilivi: newly built suites in their own secluded area, each with a 25-square-metre private pool that is heated in spring and autumn.

A round-the-clock shuttle takes guests around the hilly grounds. The walk into Tsilivi is steep and follows narrow roads, so half board or a car makes the stay easier.

Why this rank: A heated private pool with every suite and 12 of 12 counted pool mentions positive. The suites are the adults-only part of a larger complex.

Private outdoor pools for every suite
Quiet adults-only environment in Tsilivi
Comprehensive wellness and fitness facilities
Limited dining options on-site
Set back from the immediate beachfront
Contessina Suites & Spa - Adults Only6
Google4.8· 375 reviews
Booking9.1· 111 reviews

Service & staff: 26 of 26 mentions positive · Food & restaurants: 9 of 9 mentions positive

Contessina Suites & Spa is in Tsilivi, close to the beach, and adults-only according to its own website. The pool area has beanbags, day-beds and loungers rather than straight rows of sunbeds.

Maria at reception is named in review after review, and the half-board dinners are described as hard to beat locally. One couple was disappointed with their room's position when the hotel was full.

Why this rank: 26 of 26 counted service mentions positive and 4.8 on Google, but the calm is confirmed by only a single mention in our analysis, so its coverage is lower.

Tranquil adults-only environment
Sophisticated spa with thermal sauna
Two refined on-site restaurants
Private pool access in select suites
Set in a lively resort town
Limited beach views from standard suites
Tsamis Zante Suites7

Tsamis Zante Suites

Zakynthos, Greece

Google4.4· 827 reviews
Booking9.3· 1,016 reviews

Service & staff: 13 of 13 mentions positive · Food & restaurants: 9 of 9 mentions positive

Tsamis Zante Suites in Kypseli is adults-only according to its own website and sits among olive groves about a hundred metres from the sea. Three pools on different levels lead down to a seafront deck with floating day-beds.

Several guests call it one of the quietest places on the island. The shore is rocky, a car is needed, and a few guests mention a smell near the main pools.

Why this rank: The broadest base in the selection, 1,016 reviews on Booking at 9.3 – but its Google score of 4.4 pulls the guest index down. Its adults-only status is on the hotel's own website.

Adults-only and notably quiet
Three pools and a seafront deck with floating day-beds
Plant-based Elaia restaurant alongside the main buffet
Callisti spa with sauna, steam bath and couples' suite
Rocky shore rather than a sandy beach
Car needed for nightlife and restaurants
Guests mention a smell near the main pools

How we ranked the hotels

The ranking is specific to this theme and separate from the general luxury order on the destination page. Guest ratings on Booking and Google count for 55 per cent, weighted by how many reviews sit behind them. Verified facts count for 30 per cent: is the hotel adults-only by its own policy, do guests describe it as calm in our counted review mentions, are there adult-oriented facilities, and is there an adults-only zone. Star rating counts for 15 per cent.

A fact we could not confirm counts as neither yes nor no. Adults-only status has to be stated on the hotel's own website. We take the minimum age from there too; where the site only says ‘adults only’, we give the limit the hotel itself has set in its conditions on Booking. Wherever we quote a score, we name its source.

We reviewed seventeen five-star hotels on the island. Seven are adults-only according to the hotels' own websites and are ranked below. Ten are not, and they are listed at the end with the reason.

Tsilivi, Tragaki or Kypseli?

Tsilivi and Planos have tavernas, bars and a beach promenade within reach; there is, however, none of Laganas' nightlife. Zante Maris, King Jason, St John and Contessina are here, the first three on the slope above the village. The climb back up is steep; Zante Maris and St John run a buggy or shuttle to deal with it.

Tragaki, just south of Tsilivi, is more thinly built up, with wide views over the Ionian Sea. Lesante Blu has its own sandy beach here, while Elegance sits higher up the slope, where the sunsets are the point. Guests at Lesante Blu mention planes on their approach to the airport.

Kypseli, north of Tsilivi, is the quietest of the three, with olive groves running down to a rocky shore. Tsamis is here, and without a car most things beyond the hotel become a hassle.

The airport is 15–25 minutes by car from all three areas.

Hotels we reviewed but left out

Ten five-star hotels failed on the adults criterion. Several are strong hotels, just not adults-only ones.

Olea All Suite Hotel in Tsilivi — Booking 9.5 from 446 reviews. The hotel calls itself ‘adult friendly’ and welcomes guests from 12. Calm, but not adults-only.

Pierros Verde in Lithakia — Booking 9.7 from 124 reviews. Its conditions on Booking welcome children over 12.

Cavo Vezal Deluxe in Agios Sostis — Booking sells it as adults-only from 16, but the hotel's own website mentions no adults policy. We require the hotel to say so itself.

Perla del Mare in Alykanas — its conditions on Booking say children are not accepted, while the hotel's own website gives a minimum check-in age of 13. The two do not match, and 13 is no adults-only limit.

Lesante Cape, Lesante Classic, Domes Aulūs Zante, The Bay Hotel & Suites, Porto Zante Villas and Mirage Bleu take families — with kids' clubs, family suites or rooms for children according to their own websites or conditions.

A pattern worth knowing: on Zakynthos, ‘adult friendly’ usually means children from 12 or 13 are welcome. We only count hotels that say themselves that they are adults-only.
