“I had an excellent stay. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are exceptional, and every detail reflects a high standard of quality. What truly made the experience stand out was the staff. Everyone was welcoming, professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to providing outstanding service. They made me feel valued throughout my stay.”

“This was my first stay at an EDITION hotel, and it gave me a good understanding of the brand. In my opinion, EDITION leans more toward understated luxury rather than the ultra-luxury experience I personally prefer. The location is excellent and makes exploring Madrid effortless. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and eager to help throughout my stay. The rooftop is undoubtedly the highlight of the hotel, with a fantastic atmosphere, and the lobby bar is equally beautiful and well worth visiting. That said, the rooms felt rather basic for the price point. The chairs on the terrace were surprisingly uncomfortable, making the outdoor space much less enjoyable than it should have been. The food was good, but not particularly memorable. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of personalization. There was no welcome letter, no welcome amenity, and not even a small gesture such as a piece of chocolate to acknowledge my arrival. While these details may seem minor, they often distinguish a true luxury hotel from one that simply offers luxury accommodation. I also experienced an unfortunate maintenance issue: the toilet flush malfunctioned three separate times during my two-night stay, which was unexpected for a hotel in this category. Overall, I enjoyed the excellent location, the outstanding staff, and the vibrant rooftop. However, my first EDITION experience left me feeling that the brand delivers stylish, contemporary luxury rather than the highly personalized, ultra-luxury experience I was expecting. In my opinion, the rooftop is what truly sells this hotel and is its biggest asset. Without it, I don’t believe the hotel would be nearly as compelling or command the same level of demand.”

“We have visited Madrid numerous times over the years, and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in. The hotel is beautifully designed, with spacious, elegant rooms and excellent facilities throughout. What really sets it apart is the outstanding food and beverage offering. The restaurants and bars are beautifully designed, spacious and have a fantastic atmosphere, making them destinations in their own right. Breakfast was exceptional, with an excellent selection and attentive, professional service. Every member of staff we encountered was welcoming and genuinely hospitable. A stylish hotel in a perfect location. We would not consider staying anywhere else on our next visit to Madrid. Highly recommended.”

“I chose The Madrid EDITION expecting an exceptional experience consistent with the EDITION brand and the premium rates charged by the property. Unfortunately, my stay fell considerably short of that expectation. The issues were both physical and operational. My room had a minibar area that had not been properly arranged, the bathroom paint was visibly peeling, and the sink was clogged—details that should have been identified and addressed before a guest’s arrival. The breakfast experience was even more disappointing. The transition from a buffet to an à la carte format has, in my experience, resulted in a noticeably slower and less organized service. Orders were incorrect, coffee and milk were served cold, and there appeared to be considerable confusion among the staff. What should have been a pleasant and effortless start to the day instead became unnecessarily frustrating. What concerns me most is not one isolated mistake, but the cumulative lack of attention to detail. At this price point, guests should not have to accept basic maintenance issues, inconsistent service, and disorganization as part of the experience. I appreciate that operational challenges can occur at any hotel. However, a luxury property is ultimately distinguished by the consistency of its execution and the quality of its response when something falls short. I am currently addressing these concerns directly with Marriott and the hotel. I sincerely hope they use the feedback constructively, because the property has the potential to deliver a truly exceptional experience. Unfortunately, my stay so far has not reflected the level of service or attention to detail I expected from The Madrid EDITION.”

“I honestly expected a completely different standard from a hotel that presents itself as luxury and is supposedly known for its public spaces and rooftop experience. Instead of feeling welcomed, we were treated like intruders from the very first moment. The girl-THE STAR who greeted us followed us around like we were about to steal something. In a place like this, guests should feel invited, comfortable, and appreciated — not watched and silently assessed. Luxury hospitality is about class, professionalism, and making people feel wanted. Unfortunately, the service level felt more like the worst pseudo-“high-end” retail store where employees stare at customers with attitude instead of offering actual help. A proper welcome would have sounded something like: “This area with drinks is reserved for hotel guests, but if you’d like to see our most popular spaces, please head to the second floor. As for the rooftop, apart from this section, everything else is at your disposal. Please feel comfortable and enjoy your stay.” You could clearly tell that this girl probably hasn’t seen much in life, because the fact that she works in a “premium” place clearly went straight to her head. Acting superior toward guests doesn’t make anyone classy — it just exposes a lack of professionalism and basic human manners. The staff member clearly saw a thief in every person who walked in — but people usually judge others through the lens of their own mentality. Very disappointing experience for a hotel that claims to represent luxury and high standards.”
