Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels

This resort is ideal for guests seeking a quieter retreat focused on wellness and dining. Laguna Coast Resort, Small Luxury Hotels of the World is rated superbly by guests on Booking.com and offers a dedicated spa and wellness centre, dual onsite dining venues, and a tranquil Stelida hillside setting. A potential drawback is the property's distance from Naxos Town centre, coupled with the limited public transport options available nearby.

Tucked away in the scenic area of Stelida, Laguna Coast Resort combines quiet Cycladic charm with the refined standards of the Small Luxury Hotels collection. Its emphasis on wellness facilities and peaceful garden spaces makes it an ideal retreat for couples and travelers seeking a slower, more relaxed Greek island experience.
  • Guests can choose between two distinct restaurants on-site, offering a variety of Mediterranean-inspired dishes without needing to leave the resort grounds.
  • The fully equipped wellness center offers tailored therapies and massage treatments, providing a quiet sanctuary for relaxation after a day of coastal exploration.

“Our family had the most fantastic stay at Laguna Coast. The two bedroom villa was perfect for a family of 5 and so clean and modern. The staff were friendly and accommodating for any need. The bartender Ivan made the freshest craft cocktails, best ones we had in Greece. Would highly recommend if you want a more quiet retreat off the beaten path from downtown Naxos. 5+ stars. T”

“This is a really beautiful spot. It's close to pretty much everything you could want to get to - Naxos town is right there and you can easily get to Plaka and Prokopios and other great places for food and fun. Rooms are fantastic. Everything is clean and tidy. It's not a big resort, but it has many of the amenities that you could need. Breakfast was delicious and you are also near lots of amazing restaurants in Naxos. The staff were fantastic. The front desk and concierge, the restaurant staff at breakfast, the cleaning service and maids, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed getting their recommendations and ideas. They knew a lot about the island a made us feel welcome.”

“If we could rank Laguna Coast higher than 5 stars, we would! The rooms and views were wonderful, the food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!) prepared by Elpida Morfouli and team was incredible, and every detail of our stay was perfection! What makes this hotel stand out though, is the staff! We could not have encountered a more thoughtful, welcoming, or kind group of people! They went out of their way to make our experiences unforgettable and thought of our needs even before we had them! The concierge, Koralia, organized many excursions and reservations in her role as concierge and made excellent and thoughtful recommendations that made our trip even more special!”

“Sadly our Booking.com review has been removed so sharing here: Luxury means different things to different travelers, so I wanted to share our experience at Laguna Coast Resort. At nearly €900 per night, we arrived with high expectations, and while there were aspects of the property we appreciated, several elements of the experience differed significantly from what we had anticipated. For us, the biggest disappointment was that the resort didn't align with our expectations of a luxury retreat. When booking at this price level, we typically look for privacy, tranquility, exclusivity, and a true sense of escape. While Laguna Coast excels in modern design and high-quality finishes, we felt it fell short in some of those other areas. The resort is located only a couple of minutes from Naxos Airport in a relatively busy part of the island. Rather than offering expansive views or a secluded setting, the property sits in a low-lying area surrounded by hills, creating a more enclosed atmosphere than we had anticipated. A road runs above part of the resort, with regular traffic and some views into the property from passing vehicles. Privacy was the aspect that impacted our stay the most. Many of the outdoor spaces, including the plunge pool suites, are visible from nearby walkways or neighboring accommodations. There is relatively little separation between patios, so the outdoor areas felt more communal than private. Our suite reflected this layout. On one side was a row of plunge pools, while the other overlooked a decorative water feature surrounded by several neighboring patios with jacuzzis. A pathway ran through this area and was regularly used by both hotel staff and guests. While some travelers may not mind this design, it wasn't what we expected from a resort positioned as a luxury, private retreat. The overall concept of the property also surprised us. Rather than having a central swimming pool, each room features its own plunge pool or jacuzzi, many of which are situated close together. Some guests may appreciate this approach, particularly families or groups traveling together, but for couples seeking a quiet and secluded experience, it may not provide the level of privacy they are expecting. The room itself was well finished with new contemporary design. One feature that stood out, however, was the unusually large kitchen. While this may be a benefit for guests planning longer stays or traveling with family, we found that it occupied a significant portion of the suite, making the sleeping area feel smaller than expected. For us, it made the accommodation feel more like a luxury apartment than a traditional five-star resort. I can certainly see this property appealing to some travelers. Guests looking for modern accommodations with apartment-style amenities, or families who value the kitchen and individual outdoor spaces, may enjoy their stay. However, couples seeking a highly private luxury resort experience may wish to carefully consider whether the layout and setting align with what they're looking for. Overall, we felt the experience did not offer the value we expected at this price point. With different positioning—or at a lower nightly rate—we likely would have viewed the property much more favorably. As always, every traveler's priorities are different, but we hope these observations help others make an informed decision.”

“We absolutely loved our stay at Laguna Coast! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel is located about a 10 minute drive to town, making dinner each night easy. The hotel also arranged for our pick up and drop off from the airport and port, and had a rental car arranged to arrive at the hotel for us too. I would highly recommend staying here!”
