What Guests Loved
- The hotel's privileged position on the Illetas coastline provides guests with immediate access to a quiet sandy beach, offering a peaceful alternative to Mallorca's busier public bays.
- Designed by legendary Spanish architect José Antonio Coderch, the building's striking ceramic facade ensures that every single room benefits from private balconies and uninterrupted Mediterranean views.
Things to Consider
- On-site private parking is limited and can fill up quickly during the summer months. Valet services are available, and reserving a spot in advance is highly recommended.

Reviews from Google“We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Gran Meliá! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit, and the ocean view from our balcony was absolutely stunning. One of the highlights was the breakfast buffetit was easily one of the best we’ve experienced, with an amazing variety of options and even local specialties to try. We also loved the waterfront access. It was easy to find a chair by the water on both days we were there, and they even have a ladder where you can jump directly into the water, which was such a fun touch. The hotel is also very centrally located, making it easy to get around. They offer a shuttle car during certain hours of the day, and I’d recommend asking the front desk to reserve it in advance. One small callout is that the gym is fairly small. There is a larger gym available, but it’s only accessible if you book a personal training session. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Hotel Gran Meliá. We’d definitely stay here again!”
“Well where to begin😁being Melia’s member we love their hotels and was quite surprised how unfitting Gran de Mar to franchise. Reading comments about sun beds I can confirm they charge 160€ for big ones even if you stay at the hotel that’s insane🫠plus there’re no available beds so staff just throwing towels away, instead offering big beds for people without charge🤭the funniest part staff act like you force them to work and talk English( cause no one wants btw) Although it was my Birthday trip, my boyfriend needed to prove them it’s true😁so as I can guess no one will congratulate you or surprise you unless you beg P.S. aaaaaandd in the 5star lavish hotel you can’t receive water when you need( they give up to 2 bottles in exact time like what do you mean?🤨”
“A truly relaxing luxury stay in Mallorca. The rooms were clean, spacious, and beautifully designed, with a balcony that opened directly to stunning sea views — definitely one of the highlights of the experience. The entire property has a calm and premium atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. The pool area, bar, and wellness centre all add to the relaxing vibe and make the stay feel complete. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive throughout, always ready to assist with any request. One thing to note is that certain amenities like toiletries, an iron, and a table are available on demand rather than readily placed in the room. However, the minibar is conveniently included in the room. Overall, De Mar Gran Meliá Mallorca offers a peaceful and luxurious escape with excellent service and breathtaking surroundings It's bit over pricy but it's worth each penny.”
“Worth it! Nothing is better than coming home after a long day to luxury, incredible views, thoughtful interiors, and every space smells clean. A good reason to stay in while you’re on holiday. The cabana views outside are truly out of this worth .”
“A truly special stay at the Gran Meliá de Mar in Illetas 💙 We wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks to the incredible team who made our time here - especially for my dad - so memorable. The care, warmth and attention to detail shown throughout our stay meant more to us than we can properly put into words. A particular thank you to Barbara from Guest Experience, who went above and beyond, and to Nuno for such a thoughtful and memorable wine tasting. Blanca greeted us so beautifully each morning at breakfast, setting the tone for each day, and we were equally touched by the kindness of Cynthia, Flor and Ramon. In truth, every single person we encountered made us feel welcome — even the gentleman preparing omelettes each morning, whose friendliness never went unnoticed (we’re sorry we didn’t catch your name!). It’s the small touches that stay with you, and this team delivers them effortlessly. Thank you all for making our time so special - it will stay with us for a long time.”
