Balthazar Design Hotel

“This hotel really does ooze class. It's got very strong design ideas and everything is done very tastefully. Our room was beautiful and we very much enjoyed our time there. The staff were friendly and excellent, offering help where needed. On top of this, breakfast at Fiorentina, the hotel restaurant, was truly excellent (it's a shame I can't recommend it for dinner - go read my review on that if you like). The breakfast staff at the restaurant were also wonderful and deserve a shout out. There was a minor issue with our door which meant we needed to get a manual key to be let inside. While this wasn't the end of the world, it was a bit of an inconvenience and lost us a bit of time, as we needed to go back and forth a few times before it was fixed. It seems the battery on the door lock had run down, but at this price and quality I do expect more in that regard, hence a star being knocked off (also because of our dinner at the restaurant). The rooms can be a little noisy at times, with unusual clattering sounds and heavy doors slamming, but it's not too much of a big problem. And despite being on a popular central street, there's not too much outside noise, at least partially down to traffic restrictions. Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel. Just don't have dinner at the restaurant!”
