Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is built around the view. Its Nordic-design suites sit among the trees at the Arctic Circle outside Rovaniemi, and their large windows make the forest, and on a clear night the Northern Lights, part of the room. Guests speak warmly about the staff, the breakfast and the cabin design, and the location works well for a Lapland trip: Santa Claus Village is about 2 km away, SantaPark is close by and the airport is only 3.4 km off. The staff can arrange husky safaris, reindeer farm visits and sauna evenings. The trade-off is space and consistency. Standard rooms and their bathrooms are compact, and guests note that the forest-only view from the photos belongs to a handful of rooms. Dinner service can be uneven when the restaurant is busy. Couples and families who come for a few nights of winter activities will find a memorable base; anyone who wants room to spread out should book a larger suite.
Guests score it 8.6 out of 10 — the average across the 4 hotels we list in Rovaniemi is 9.0.
What Guests Loved
- Guests return again and again to the view: the suites have big windows facing the trees, and on a clear night the Northern Lights can appear above the forest. Several describe their stay as magical.
- Santa Claus Village is about 2 km away, SantaPark is close by and Rovaniemi Airport is 3.4 km from the hotel, so most of the area's attractions are a short ride away.
Things to Consider
- Several guests point out that the nature-only view shown in the photos belongs to a handful of rooms. The hotel also sits by the main road into town, so it is worth asking which view a room has before you book.
- The standard rooms and their bathrooms are compact, with little space for toiletries, and a family travelling with a child and winter gear found the room cramped. Several guests also feel the price is high for the size of the room.
Should you book it?
Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is worth booking for couples looking for a design stay in the Lapland forest — but pick somewhere else if you want a spacious room for a longer stay.
