Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Anassa caters perfectly to travellers seeking a secluded hillside location and immediate beach access away from standard resort bustle. Reopened in March 2026 following a €10M refurbishment, this iconic hillside property is rated outstandingly by Booking.com guests. It resembles a traditional village overlooking its own beach and provides two swimming pools and a thalasso spa. Potential guests should note its remote Akamas location, situated 40+ minutes from Paphos town, and a formal resort style that some may find traditional.
Guests score it 9.2 out of 10 — the average across the 10 hotels we list in Paphos is 9.2.
What Guests Loved
- Anassa has defined Cypriot luxury since 1998, and the 2026 Yabu Pushelberg refurbishment renewed the entire resort.
- The low-rise village spills down a hillside to a sandy bay on the wild Akamas peninsula — a setting no Paphos-town hotel can match.
- Secluded hillside village above its own beach
- Two pools plus an extensive thalasso spa
Things to Consider
- The seclusion is the point, but airport transfers run long and Paphos town is a 40-minute drive.
- Formal resort style may feel traditional to some
Should you book it?
Book it if you want
- Travellers wanting quiet and the beach in one place
- Travellers who want quiet over resort bustle
- Beach days with the sand a few steps away
